Thought Lancaster
A community food club at Father's House Skerton

Food for thought, aims to provide surplus food to members and in association with Father's House provide a community café. The club will be based at and will work in conjunction with The Fathers House Skerton. The club aims to build a service which will focus on an ethos of healthy, tasty, and sustainable food. We believe in supporting people to reach their full potential; whoever that may be, regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, religion, belief, or circumstance.

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of good food is wasted by the UK food industry every year. Food For Thought hopes to address this issue by redistributing food industry surplus, which would otherwise go to waste, to the community.
We can't promise what every member will receive each week as that depends on our suppliers. But we can say that it will be more than the £3 membership fee paid each week. On top of this each member will be offered the option of joining a food co-operative for an extra £1 per visit. This will take the full cost up to £4 per visit, but then includes 2litres of milk, an 800g loaf of bread and 6 free range eggs.
Food For Thought is a non profit club and all monies go to paying running costs.

The club is held at Fathers House Skerton every Thursday. The club will run from 12 noon to approximately 2pm.
